New Works on Canvas… more movement, momentum, mixture

With a new approach to a similar theme, I am developing works based on quicker movement and harsher changes in direction. Life sends me in new directions in aspects I have invested so much heart and design soul into… the work needs to express some of the humanness life offers and the harsher and contrasting directional change. These 5 works are in porgress, layers of additional planes of color are in mind… but this is process and I love sharing and thinking about the process.

#WIStateFair was a GREAT SUCCESS for #PleinAir #Paintings

Thank you to ALL who came out to visit the State Fair and see the Plein Air paintings I created this year. 5 works – 3 for the fair and 2 commissions. In addition to the commission, I got a phone call today from Larry – Plein Air Volunteer / Coordinator, that the Giant Slide Painting “If We Get Separated, Meet at the Giant Slide” was sold today! GREAT week fore sales! Thank you Sara Toedter for taking the pictures of me painting. Thanks also to Matt and Ken for the commissions of your businesses at the fair. Continued success to you! More edits tonight for tomorrow! Thank you all!

#LakeGeneva and #MarinaBay #Watercolor #Painting

What a great day of Art in the Park in Lake Geneva, WI. I TOTALLY forgot that it was even happening today – but the crowd didn’t forget. What a busy, busy few hours. Great to talk to all of the art goers and especially the hard workers at Marina Bay. The kids were excited to be a part of a painting – so much so – the work was bought at the end of the day. Thanks again guys and gals. Fun to meet and talk with you all. TOMORROW – the WI STATE FAIR!

#Dinner in #Lake Geneva with my #Family

image

While my family is the more important part of tonight’s dinner, were settling in and gathering our thoughts while we wait for the pizza. I am taking a moment to celebrate ther newest investment in my art company… Business Cards! These are from the online company Moo.com and are mini cards. Neat. Next time you run into me, ask for one. Here’s my family too. Time for tic tac toe.

Back to the #Lake

Two paintings were finished tonight, well, almost. This painting was finshed and the ideas were to go back to a simpler approach with the paints and brush strokes. I’ll post a cleaner picture and the other painting in a day or so. Enjoy.

#BTown #music (and #Art) in the #Park

A great afternoon of barbecue and conversation turned into a night of great music and painting. Thanks to all the folks and kids who stopped by to see me at work. Follow my site (there is a spot on this page to do that) like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.

“Early Tuesday Evening” in #LakeGeneva with #PleinAir #Painting and #SOLD

Wonderful evening in downtown Lake Geneva. The individuals that I met tonight: Art Teacher, Store Owners, Theater Actor, kids of all ages… the ideas shared and comments made were really great and appreciated. Thanks all. I am anxious to get back to the streets on Thursday. And thanks to Mary, Ann, and Ginger for the purchases of THREE watercolors! Enjoy!

Today in #LakeGeneva – #NoRain

Thanks to Ken Cottingham – resident painter and teacher in Lake Geneva – for the hospitality, conversation, and snack as I worked feverishly in my latest painting. Working hard to capture the ideas of the store fronts in Lake Geneva, I had many a conversation with tourists and locals alike. Thank you to everyone that stopped by. That said – If I had a dollar for everyone who “liked” my work – I’d be making some money while out there. That’s ok though… it’s not the reason (well – it is one of the reasons but not THE reason) I am out there. Now… I HAVE to get that darn scooter working better. Ugh.

#Mixed #Rain and #Sun in #LakeGeneva – #Painting in #PleinAir

A wonderful but mixed day in Lake Geneva today. (A GREAT WEEK TOO!) The scooter got all fixed up and running, I even washed it up. The trip in was about a half and hour. Longer than if I drove my car BUT the parking is on SIDEWALKS! I parked within 2 minutes of where I painted. WONDERFUL! That said – I was a bit scared when I got done for the day – I could not get it started right away. YIKES! THANK you to all who stopped by. Families, individuals, couples… I had a lot great conversations and I HOPE that those of you who DID come by (and got a card) happen to visit my site. Two paintings today: Reflections of the Lake and At the Dock.

#Wednesday in #LakeGeneva

Another wonderful day in the shade in Lake Geneva. The conversations, once again, were worthwhile and, hopefully, gave a lot of people a sense of appreciation for the lake and what it is to create a watercolor painting. Thank you to everybody who stopped by, especially my buddy Zach Ziegler who biked in from Burlington via Williams Bay. Most importantly, thanks to my mom who join me on today’s trip. Please visit my Plein Air Site to get a feeling for many of my works at: https://frankkorb.wordpress.com/pleinair/
